Google Ads promotion mode: what it does

Diagram: how Google Ads promotion mode works

Illustration based on Google’s promotion mode (beta) announcement, June 2026. See PPC Land for the details.

Promotion mode (beta, announced June 2026) lets you schedule temporary changes for peak periods - like a sale or launch - in advance. You can relax ROAS tolerance and add extra budget for a set date range, on Search and Performance Max.

When to use it: Black Friday, seasonal sales, single-day promotions and launches.

Watch-outs: it's beta; its interaction with seasonality adjustments isn't fully documented; and it only works if you set it up ahead of time.
